Ken’s working career began while in high school working in construction for a small family run custom home and remodeling contractor. As a laborer he was introduced to, and became skilled in all aspects of home building from the ground work and drainage, to framing, exterior and interior finishes and roofing. Ken has a well-rounded knowledge of all phases of construction and building systems, with over 30 years experience in the building industry. He has owned his own general contracting company in past years and has also more recently had 12 years experience as a site superintendent for a local commercial contractor. His reputation and experience with local tradesmen, sub-contractors, and past clients in construction and in the home inspection profession, are a testament to his dedication, honesty, & commitment.

Ken was born and raised here locally in Whatcom County, and has been proud to call it “Home” for his entire life. He is your “Local” home inspector with connections to the community and has access to many resources that can assist you in the home buying process.

Ken is looking forward to meeting you soon, as a Preferred Home Inspections Client.

As an ASHI and WSHI licensed inspector and a Washington State SPI , Ken understands the importance of a thorough home inspection, as buying a home is one, if not the largest investments a person will make in their lifetime. So with that in mind, on each and every inspection, whether it is new construction, older homes with “lots of character” or condominiums & multifamily, Ken spends the time that is necessary to provide a complete and detailed report to his clients. Questions and concerns will arise throughout this process – Ken always welcomes them from his clients and will go out of his way to find the answers. Ken’s goal for Preferred Home Inspections is to help the client understand the property in question, from top to bottom, so that they can make a well informed decision with regards to purchasing it.
